Cut the boring parts. Keep the original.
A canvas-based timeline editor for ScreenScoop recordings. Drag three markers, mark segments to remove, and the original video stays on the side until you say otherwise.
Why
Every screen recording has dead air at the top, a fumble in the middle, and a sign-off you would rather skip. Loom and CloudApp solve this by hosting the file elsewhere and renting you an editor. ScreenScoop Editor solves it where your recordings already live, with no upload step and no second login.
How it works
- Open the recording, click Edit VideoA client action loads the recording over the streaming endpoint with HTTP Range support for fast seeking.
- Drag the green and red markersDouble-click the timeline to separate the playhead from the cut bracket markers. Drag to define a segment.
- Cut Out, repeatA floating popover confirms each cut. Overlapping cuts merge automatically. Undo the last one or clear all from the toolbar.
- Save or restoreSaving stores the original video as a backup attachment and flags the record as edited. Restore Original reverts in one click.
What's in the box
Three-marker timeline
Canvas-rendered timeline with a white playhead, a green left bracket, and a red right bracket. Linked or separated, your choice.
Non-destructive cuts
Cuts are a list of segments, not file mutations. Edit, undo, clear, redo your direction without re-rendering each time.
Original backup attachment
On first edit the source video moves to its own ir.attachment. Restore Original puts it back, no data loss.
Edited ribbon
An info ribbon appears on the form view the moment a recording diverges from its source. Anyone opening the record knows what they are looking at.
Edit history log
A JSON trail of every restore, with timestamps and the attachment id that was replaced. Inspectable from the Technical tab.
Keyboard-friendly
Spacebar toggles playback, Escape cancels a pending cut, click-on-empty seeks the playhead. The mouse is optional during the loop.
Compatibility
Odoo 19.0 ScreenScoop 19.0
Depends on screenscoop. The editor is a backend OWL client action, so a modern Chromium-based browser is the practical floor.
